Scientist, researcher and consultant, Kerry Starr is a Principal at SX2 Ventures, with responsibility for risk and regulated businesses.
Prior to joining SX2, Kerry was a strategy and compliance consultant for a Fortune 500 financial services institution in San Francisco, leading enterprise-wide sales practices and incentive compensation risk management programs. She was also Director of Strategic Innovations and Product Development at the New York-based Viewpointe LLC, designing an industry-leading risk mitigation product that was profiled in American Banker.
Throughout her consulting career, Kerry has applied her scientific discipline across a broad range of industries. Early in her career, she was a consultant to both the U.S. National Air and Space Agency (NASA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Kerry has received advanced GMP Certification from the Academy of Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences (AAPS). She is also on the Board of Directors at Wild at Heart, an Arizona-based non-profit raptor rescue, rehabilitation and release center for birds of prey. She is also a volunteer team lead for the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s annual waterbird survey.
Kerry has both a Bachelor’s Degree with Honors and a Master’s Degree in Biological Sciences from Stanford University and was a PhD Candidate in Evolutionary Biology at the University of Chicago.
